Social work degree in Wales re-approved by the Care Council for Wales

The Open University have announced that the BA (Honours) Social Work (Wales) has been re-approved by the Care Council for Wales, meeting all the regulatory requirements.

The submission to the Care Council was prepared under the new Framework for the Social Work Degree in Wales, including how the degree intends to deliver the new National Occupational Standards for Social Work (NOS).

The Care Council particularly noted that the Programme is well mapped against the NOS, while other strengths noted included the Programme’s partnership arrangements, a ‘clear and strong’ commitment to service user/carer involvement, and opportunities to study alongside students from other professional backgrounds.

The Programme is delivered in partnership with employers and service users in Wales and is open to students sponsored by their employer with a limited number of places for students without a sponsor. Click here for further information about this course.
