First glimpse of new website being launched for Social Care Wales

The new test website for Social Care Wales has been launched ahead of the new organisation starting work on 3 April 2017.

Social Care Wales will bring together the Care Council and the Social Services Improvement Agency and be responsible for leading and supporting the improvement of early years and social care for the people of Wales. For the first time, the functions of regulating and developing the workforce, service improvement and research will be brought under one organisation.

The test website is the culmination of several months of research and development to create a site that will help people find the information they need as easily as possible. And now people are being encouraged to provide feedback on the test site before the full version goes ‘live’ at the beginning of April.

The test website also provides a first glimpse of the brand identity of Social Care Wales.

Sue Evans, Care Council Chief Executive, who will have the same role in Social Care Wales, said: “The launch of the test website for Social Care Wales shows we are now very close to making the change to the new organisation, with a new Board in place to steer the way forward.

“The website will be a very important way of providing information and resources to the care and support workforce, people who use services, our partner organisations and the general public. It will also provide an important route for everyone to communicate with us. We were keen to launch a test version of the site so that people can have an advance look and provide us with feedback over what works and what might not work so well. This will enable us to make any necessary changes to the way the site operates before it’s launched in full on 3 April.

“It should be emphasised that the test website doesn’t contain all the information that will be in the fully completed version launched in April. Some content won’t be there, as we continue to develop the site. But it should still provide enough of a flavour of the structure and style, and how it works, so that people can feed back their views.

“It is also an opportunity to reveal our new branding for Social Care Wales, which we have tried to keep as simple as possible. The stylised tick shows how we set standards and protect the public, while the circle represents people who are at the centre of care and support,” added Sue.
