Six Questioned Over Swansea Rape Claims

Six men are being quizzed by police over claims a woman was raped in a Swansea house. The 28-year-old claimed the serious sexual assault happened at the property in Port Tennant Road, Port Tennant, on Sunday evening.

Detectives are now looking at how many of the six men were involved in the attack.

The men, who have all been arrested and are currently being questioned by officers, were present in the house when police arrived.

But officers insist it is too early to say whether they played a hand in the alleged sexual assault. Police have sealed off the house and forensic officers have been searching the property for clues.

Details of the assault are still sketchy and it is not known if any of the people involved live in the property.

Detective Inspector Simon Davies said officers were still waiting to interview the victim, and were hoping she would be able to shed more light on what had allegedly happened.

He said they were not looking for anybody else in connection with the incident. “We received a report of a serious sexual assault on a 28-year-old woman in Port Tennant Road, Port Tennant,” he added.

“Six men, who were in the house at the time, have been placed in custody and are helping us in our inquiries. We are still in the early stages of the investigation. There has been a uniformed presence outside the house since the incident.”

One nearby resident said neighbours had been left in a state of shock by the news.

“Nobody is really sure what has happened,” she said. “There have been lots of rumours since everyone saw the police car at the house. If what we have heard is true, then it is absolutely terrible.”
