Executive Care expansion to create 60 jobs

Care home provider, Executive Care, has strengthened its management team and is recruiting heavily as the group undertakes a major corporate review.

The 27-home group, based in the North East, recently announced two senior appointments including new executive chairman Simon Harrison.

Harrison is a qualified nurse and has extensive knowledge of healthcare services and has a proven record of managing teams through the implementation of strategic, operational and organisational change.

Julie Rayner has also joined the firm as director of governance, quality and compliance.

During the last 12 months,the company has been reviewing its systems to ensure all homes work to a consistent and coordinated high quality of standard.

Greater emphasis is being placed on recruiting, training and retaining staff, with an emphasis on moving away from temporary and agency staff.

The group is currently looking to fill 60 jobs across nursing, carer and senior carer roles and has homes in Middlesbrough, Stockton, Hemlington, Redcar, Hartlepool, Newcastle, South Shields, Birtley and Stocksfield and Alnwick.

Executive chairman Simon Harrison, said: “Executive Care is in the process of completing a review of the business to ensure we provide the best, highly focused care provision across all our homes.

“This will incorporate a new focus on dementia care and high-end nursing and elderly care.

“The ensuing changes in systems and staffing are throwing up some challenges, but we are determined to establish sustainable structures that will help support our staff and homes to provide an exceptional level of care to our residents who put their trust in us.”

He added: “With our newly strengthened management team, we are now in a position to finalise strategic plans and embed a new way of working across the group. This is an exciting time for Executive Care and one that will see us investing heavily in homes along with our people and systems.”
