Police Arrest Four For People Trafficking In Leeds

Four people have been arrested in Leeds on suspicion of people trafficking. Police arrested two men and two women in the Harehills and Roundhay areas of Leeds yesterday.

A 27-year old man from Albania was arrested on suspicion of human trafficking into the United Kingdom, human trafficking within the United Kingdom, controlling prostitution for gain, money laundering and a number of rapes.

A woman of 23 was arrested on suspicion of human traf-ficking within the UK, controlling prostitution for gain and money laundering.

A 23-year-old Lithuanian man was arrested on suspicion of human trafficking within the UK and controlling prostitution for gain. A 21-year-old woman, also from Lithuania, was arrested on suspicion of human trafficking within the UK and controlling prostitution for gain.

They are currently all in custody at a Leeds Police Station, where they were today being questioned by police officers.

West Yorkshire Police Anti-Trafficking Unit is being supported on this inquiry by their counterparts in South Yorkshire and Humberside and also by officers from the Metropolitan Police.
