We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Assessment Worker to join our clients team. This role is pivotal in assessing the needs and circumstances of families to provide appropriate support, guidance, and referrals for intervention. As a Family Assessment Worker, you will work closely with families, children, and other professionals to ensure that families receive the necessary services to improve their well-being and enhance child safety.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive family assessments to evaluate strengths, challenges, and support needs.
* Develop and implement tailored care plans, including referrals to relevant services and resources.
* Work collaboratively with social workers, healthcare providers, and community organizations to ensure holistic support for families.
* Provide emotional support, advocacy, and guidance to families during assessment and intervention processes.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, reports, and case files in line with organizational and legal requirements.
* Monitor and review progress of families and make adjustments to care plans as needed.
* Participate in meetings, conferences, and training sessions as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Experience in family assessments, child welfare, or related work is highly desirable.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and work effectively with diverse families and stakeholders.
* A deep understanding of child protection, family dynamics, and relevant legislation.
* Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
* Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable Attributes:

* Knowledge of community resources and services available to families in need.
* Previous experience in case management or working within child welfare services is an asset
