North Somerset are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join a well-structured and dynamic Reablement Intervention team. The client offers a full-time contract with an opportunity to work from home, a fair and manageable caseload and further training in your portfolio. The vacancy will be for an initial 3 – 6 months with potential for extension.
Main Duties for the Occupational Therapist includes.
Goal setting.
Discharge planning, equipment provision.
You will assess functional independence, manual handling and environmental access needs, managing risk to ensure safety in line with local authority and statutory policy and guidance.
Work collaboratively with internal and external partners and providers across the service to ensure best outcomes for service users.
Providing expert advice, and assessments.
Recommending adaptations.
Supporting independence, prescribing minor aids, equipment, minor works, moving and handling plans, engaging with other services and referring on.
An awareness of the importance of safeguarding vulnerable people, plus an understanding of the importance of dignity & respect when dealing with people.
Understand and demonstrate the council's values and behaviours, working collaboratively with colleagues, attending meetings and proactively contributing and problem solving.To Be Successful.
Previous experience working as an Occupational Therapist in the community.
Experienced Adult Social Care OT required with minimum of 2 years' experience.
Community based with provision of equipment to support home working.
Previous experience working with adaptations.
Manual handling experience.
HCPC Registration.
Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you).
Eligibility to work in the UK.
