Senior Social Worker – Looked After Children Team

Salary: Up to £46,857+ £3000 per annum
Are you a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of looked after children? Look no further! Our client, a leading Local Authorty based in North London, is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join their Looked After Children Team.
As a Senior Social Worker in our Looked After Children Team, you will play a pivotal role in providing essential support and guidance to children in care, ensuring their safety, well-being, and long-term stability. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you will work tirelessly to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children and young people.
Main Responsibilities:
Complex Case Management: Undertake comprehensive assessments and develop detailed care plans for looked after children, tailored to their individual needs and circumstances.
Leadership and Support: Provide leadership and mentorship to junior social workers, offering advice, guidance, and supervision to ensure high standards of practice.
Direct Support and Intervention: Provide direct support and intervention to children and young people in care, promoting their emotional, educational, and social development.
Collaboration and Advocacy: Collaborate closely with foster carers, adoptive families, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for children in care. Advocate for the rights and needs of looked after children, ensuring their voices are heard and their views are taken into account in decision-making processes.
Monitoring and Review: Monitor and review the progress of looked after children, identifying any areas for additional support or intervention, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and organizational policies.
Requirements:
Qualifications: Degree or diploma in Social Work and registration with Social Work England.
Experience: Significant experience working with looked after children and young people in a statutory setting. Proven track record of handling complex cases and providing leadership within a social work team.
Knowledge: Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to children in care. Demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge in practice.
Skills: Excellent assessment, planning, and intervention skills. Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
