I am a 29-year-old female living at home in Penarth with my parents and siblings. I have a mild learning disability and spinal injury, I am registered as partially sighted and use a wheelchair. I will not require any help with personal care. I am looking for an enthusiastic, fun, patient and reliable Support Worker to help me engage in my hobbies and interests and to become more independent. You will need to be calm and patient under pressure and be able to apply a consistent approach.
I receive care on a 1:1 basis, however my wish is to be as independent as possible. Your time spent with me will be varied and involve assisting me to engage in swimming, attending the gym, cycling, craft work and supporting me to attend my voluntary placement. Some of your time will be helping me at home to undertake some household tasks such as helping me with my laundry and to keep my area within the home tidy. Occasionally I may require you to work additional hours depending on the activity we have planned.
