New safeguarding training resources launched in Wales

The launch of the Basic Awareness in Safeguarding Training Pack is the culmination of the work of the Care Council for Wales, with partners in local authority social services and the voluntary sector, to develop a national training programme.

This ‘comprehensive and robust resource’ reflects the Wales policy agenda and context of practice. It promotes ethical and person – centred safeguarding practice and emphasises the message that safeguarding is everyone’s business.

The launch event will take place at the Optic Centre, St Asaph, Denbighshire on 17 September. It will be of interest to social care managers and training managers and trainers in the local authority, third sector, health authority and independent sector.

There will be a brief over view of the resource through presentations and a panel discussion and the opportunity for questions and comments on the resource.
