The residents of a Dundee care home earmarked for closure are no nearer to finding out when or where they will be re-housed — almost two weeks after being told of its imminent closure (writes April Mitchinson).

Police in Fife say that they believe a fire at an old folks home in the town of Benarty was started deliberately. The alarm was raised at around 3am on Tuesday morning, and officers at the nearby police station saw that an extension – currently under construction – at the rear of the care home was alight.

Chief Social Work Officer at the City of Edinburgh Council, Michelle Miller has been elected Vice President of the Association of Directors of Social Work (ADSW) in Scotland.  Next year she will automatically become President of the Association.
