Welsh care homes reminded to complete Self Assessment of Service Statement SASS

The Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW) has issued a reminder to adult care homes and children’s care homes that they must complete the Self Assessment of Service Statement (SASS) by the end of November.

CSSIW have written to providers to let them know that they are required to complete and submit a focused SASS using CSSIW Online by 28 November 2016.

You will need to complete the SASS regardless of whether your service is currently operating.

Why this information IS REQUIRED?

CSSIW need this information to:

  • confirm that your registration details are current and correct;
  • confirm your language preferences and provide collated information to Welsh Government to evaluate the impact of any decision regarding requirements around the environment.

SASS does not replace the need to notify CSSIW or submit changes about your registration. All notifications and variations should be submitted through the normal process.
