Care Council for Wales issues call for trainers to deliver new reforms

The Care Council for Wales is looking for trainers to deliver training on the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act.

The Act makes wide-ranging reforms and has major implications for the learning and development needs of the social care workforce. In preparation for the Act coming into effect in April 2016, the Care Council is working with a range of partners to develop a national learning and development plan to support its implementation.

A key strand is the development of learning materials for those whose roles are most affected by the change and who require training. IPC has been commissioned to develop high quality bilingual learning materials consisting of four core modules:

  • Introduction and general functions
  • Assessing and meeting the needs of individuals
  • Looked after and accommodated children
  • Safeguarding

The Care Council is developing a framework of high quality trainers who can be commissioned to deliver these modules across Wales until March 2017. There will be a free train the trainer course for successful applicants and all materials will be provided. If you’re interested in delivering this training, please see the link below for more information.

The deadline for applications is 10am on Monday, 26 October 2015.
