New pilot programme for aspiring social care managers in Wales

The Care Council for Wales is working in partnership with the South East Wales SCIP to pilot an exciting new programme for aspiring managers that aims to provide social care workers with the knowledge and understanding needed to make the transition into a management role.

The programme, which will begin in November, will cover three key areas of management within social care:

  • Understanding person centred practice in the leadership and management of social care
  • Understanding theories, models and frameworks for the leadership and management of social care services
  • Understanding the leadership and management of effective team performance in social care

This opportunity is open to social care workers from the counties of Blaenau Gwent; Bridgend; Cardiff; Caerphilly; Merthyr; Monmouth; Newport; RCT; Torfaen; and the Vale of Glamorgan.

If you are or know of a social care worker who is interested in developing their career as a social care manager, download an information sheet and application form.

Alternatively, you can contact Debbie Powell ([email protected]) or Karen Wakelin ([email protected]) for an informal discussion.
