South East Wales nursery is suspended

A South East Wales nursery has been forced to close while an investigation is carried out by social services into “serious issues of non-compliance”.

The Stay and Play Nursery Ltd in Aberdare, which is understood to care for 34 children, has had its registration suspended.

A spokesman from the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW) said: “Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW) is currently investigating concerns in relation to Stay and Play Nursery Ltd.

“Serious issues of non-compliance were found which have led CSSIW to enforce action to ensure children attending the nursery are safeguarded while the investigation is on-going.

“A Notice of Decision to suspend the registration was issued on August 21 and came into effect from 6.30pm on August 22.”
