New FAQs on registration of domiciliary care workers and employers in Wales

In 2018, the Register of Social Care Workers (the Register) will open to domiciliary care workers in Wales and Social Care Wales has produced a set of frequently asked questions (FAQs) about the upcoming registration on their website.

While domiciliary care workers won’t have to register immediately when the register opens to them, they will have to register by 2020 under the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016.

The FAQs are divided into two groups – those for employers and those for domiciliary care workers – and cover topics such as what is registration, who needs to do it and what registration involves.

Social Care Wales say they don’t know all the answers about the registration process yet as some of the details will depend on the results of various consultations taking place this summer.

However, as they will be adding more FAQs over the coming months, you are advised to check the page regularly to make sure you stay up-to-date with the latest information.

You can find the FAQs here.
