Landmarks given purple makeover to mark World Autism Awareness Month

Scottish Autism has spread its shade of purple across Scotland to mark the beginning of World Autism Month in April and World Autism Awareness Day (2nd April).

The charity, which is dedicated to enabling and enriching the lives of individuals with autism through the whole life journey, is seeking to raise awareness and understanding of autism, a lifelong, developmental condition affecting one in 100 people.

To mark the occasion, Scottish Autism’s tone of purple is currently being prominently displayed on two of Scotland’s key landmarks. The charity has painted the sheep grazing at the ‘Pyramids’ on the M8 motorway near Bathgate in their distinct purple logo colour.

The charity is encouraging people to get involved in events happening all over Scotland during April to raise money and help it continue to provide vital support to individuals with autism and their families.
