SSSC announce review of Social Service Codes of Practice
The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) are carrying out a review of the Codes of Practice for Social Service Workers and Employers during 2015/16.
Since the Codes were published in 2003, there have been significant developments in the way that care and support is provided and delivered, particularly in relation to personalisation.
The Codes also play an important part in regulation of the workforce as the SSSC moves towards Fitness to Practise following the model of regulation consultation.
The SSSC want to make sure that the Codes continue to support good practice across the sector and to do this they’re looking for the workforce to contribute..
Over the summer, the SSSC will be asking for your views on what’s working well with the Codes of Practice and what you think should change. Your views will help them draft a revised Code of Practice.
As part of the revision, they will be hosting a series of events and online engagement and more details of these and how you can contribute will be available soon.
From November on, there will be a formal consultation on the revised Code of Practice which we’ll bring you details of when they are available.
