Call for Papers for Scottish Journal of Residential Child Care
The Scottish Journal for Residential Child Care will be publishing a special edition in Summer 2015 on issues related to management and leadership in residential child care.
The editors are seeking papers which emphasise good practice or which focus on particular aspects of internal and/or external management, leadership roles, staffing and the ways in which resources are used in residential child care. Perspectives from practitioners and researchers will be welcome, as will work which draws on international experiences.
The guest editor for this edition of the journal is Dr Leslie Hicks. Leslie is based in the School of Health and Social Care at the University of Lincoln and has researched extensively in the field of residential child care, young people and social inclusion.
She has led research focusing on the relationship between leadership in children’s homes and outcomes for young people, and has carried out action research with residential staff to investigate cultures and staff dynamics in children’s residential care. Leslie has a longstanding commitment to making use of research in practice and has offered training for and consultancy to residential staff groups.
Papers for the special edition should be no more than 6000 words, though shorter pieces are welcome and the language of the journal is English.
All contributions should have a title with the names and designations of the authors clearly stated. References should follow the APA 6th referencing style. They should be cited in the text as name and year within brackets and listed at the end of the paper alphabetically. The editors invite submission of abstracts for this special issue no later than 17 October 2014. Abstracts should be no more than 700 words in length and should include full names and contact details of the lead author. Please send abstracts or any queries to Dr Leslie Hicks, [email protected]. Prospective authors must be in a position to submit a full draft of their paper by no later than 13 February 2015 if their abstract is accepted.
