Interim Chief Officer appointed for Angus health and social care
Angus Council and NHS Tayside have announced the appointment of Susan Wilson as Interim Chief Officer for the Angus Shadow Health and Social Care Integration Partnership.
Susan, who is currently the general manager for Angus Community Health Partnership (CHP), will take up the interim chief officer role in the next few weeks.
Over the next 12 months it will be the job of the interim chief officer to lead the transition arrangements for the integration of health and social care services provided by Angus Council and NHS Tayside.
New health and social care partnerships will be formed by the NHS and the local authority in each area of Scotland by April 2015. This means that over the coming years, GPs, hospitals, health workers, social care staff, the voluntary and independent sectors will increasingly work side-by-side in local teams to share information and provide more co-ordinated services to individuals and their families.
On her appointment, Susan said, “I am delighted to accept this exciting new role and to work together with all the partners and communities across Angus to improve the lives of local people and their families.
“I have worked and lived in Angus for many years, having the privilege to work with great people doing great things. I am very much looking forward to the future where we can build on existing relationships and further develop our partnerships with local communities who can really help us understand the needs and shape the improvements that will make a real difference.”
