Choice Care Group appoints new day services specialist

Specialist care provider Choice Care Group has appointed a new acting day service manager, further strengthening its commitment to encourage its service users to pursue a wide variety of interests and activities.

Kerry Hartley, who originally joined Choice in 2008, is now in charge of overseeing the activities made available to its service users, who primarily have learning disabilities, mental health disorders and complex emotional and behavioural needs.

From snowboarding to sensory sessions and employment to education, Kerry says day activities are bringing real benefits to service users and meeting their needs in creative ways.

She said:“I have always had a passion for day services and seeing first hand how exciting and fresh activities can enrich the lives of our service users. When asked if I would consider becoming acting day service manager, I didn’t hesitate to jump at the new challenge.

“Since taking up the post, I have been lucky enough to visit a number of different homes and meet a number of service users. These visits have shown me that throughout the company we are very person-focused and this is reflected in the day service programmes offered to all our service users.”
