Care worker told dementia woman: ‘You’ll regret it’

A dementia sufferer was dragged along the corridor of a care home by the woman who was supposed to be looking after her.

Mhorag Stewart shouted and swore at resident Mona Winton as she tried to take her for a shower.

The 40-year-old carer had denied carrying out the attack at The Meadows home at Huntly. However, halfway through her trial at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday, she changed her plea and admitted pulling Mrs Winton and striking her on the body.

She was fined £300 – a punishment described as “dreadful” by her victim’s family.
