Hamiton to host widening participation in social work education event

Widening participation in social work education will be the central theme of a one-day event for all those connected with social work practice on Wednesday 30 September in Hamilton.  Service users, carers, employers, policy makers and education providers are invited to take part to explore successful practice and strategies for future action.

Expert speakers will include Professor Mono Chakrabarti from Glasgow School of Social Work and the event will be chaired by Professor Jane Aldgate from The Open University.

The event, which will be held at the University of the West of Scotland’s Hamilton Campus from 9.30-3.30pm, is a partnership between The Open University in Scotland, University of the West of Scotland, Glasgow School of Social Work, South Lanarkshire Council and the Scottish Social Services Council.
