Alzheimer Scotland Launches New Campaign

Alzheimer Scotland is launching its brand new fundraising campaign entitled Care for a Curry?

The dementia charity is starting the drive with an evening of fine dining in Edinburgh, which will be attended by representatives from Scotland’s banking, business and media industries, as well as eminent politician Robin Harper.

All funds raised in the evening will be going towards paying for Scotland’s only specialist dementia nurse.

The evening will be taking place at Charan Gill’s Quay complex in Musselburgh and Mr Gill has already donated £1,000 towards the fundraising efforts.

Care for a Curry? is a new campaign to raise the awareness of dementia in Scotland and aims to generate funds to help people with dementia and their carers throughout the country.

Alzheimer Scotland estimates that between 58,000 and 65,000 people in the country suffer from dementia and it is most common in older people but can affect people in their 40s, 50s or younger.
