Strike To Hit Glasgow Disabilities Day Centre Services
Day centre staff at Scotland’s largest local authority are beginning a strike over pay and conditions.
Glasgow City Council’s drop-in centres for adults and children with disabilities will be affected by the indefinite industrial action.
About 200 staff are taking part in the latest in a series of strikes over plans to change pay and pensions. A council spokesman said it was willing to negotiate but insisted any talks must also include a review of services.
About 800 adults and children use the drop-in day centres. No talks have been planned and both sides said that a lengthy dispute looked likely.
