Belfast lecture on ‘Safety in Partnership’ approach to family therapy

Leading journal of multi-disciplinary child care practice, ChildCare in Practice, is hosting a presentation by Dr David Hayes, Senior Lecturer in Social Work, Queens University Belfast on the findings of an evaluation of the ‘Safety in Partnership’ approach to work with children and families.

‘Safety in Partnership’, which has been implemented in the Western Health and Social Care Trust since 2009, is a strengths-based, safety-oriented approach which draws upon systemic theory, family therapy, solution focused and brief therapy principles.

It also draws heavily from the ‘Signs of Safety’ approach developed in Western Australia in the 1990s.
