Details announced for Belfast care conference

The Northern Irish Social Care Council (NISCC) have released details of a major conference on Transforming Your Care taking place in November.

The conference  – Transforming Your Care and the Future of Health and Social Care Delivery: Hospitals, Communities and Partnerships – will take place in Belfast on 6 November.

It aims to highlight the progress being made in the implementation of the wide-ranging reforms outlined in the Transforming Your Care strategy, and will take place as an expert panel conducts a review into governance arrangements across the Health and Social Care sectors.
 
Edwin Poots MLA, Minister for Health, Social Services and Public Safety and Glenn Houston, Chief Executive, RQIA and Colum Conway, Chief Executive of NISCC, will be delivering the keynote addresses at the event.

Topics for discussion are will include: the future of emergency care provision; how best to encourage a culture of openness and transparency throughout the healthcare system in Northern Ireland; next steps for the development of Integrated Care Partnerships, and what more should be done to ensure that the health and social care services successfully adapt to meet the needs of a growing and ageing population.

The conference will bring together key policymakers from the Northern Ireland Assembly with stakeholders from across health and social care services, private and third?sector health and social care providers, pharmacies, hospices, residential care providers, medical associations and trade unions, patient groups, charities, local authorities and academics.
