Logan Calls For More Time To Debate Referendum

The Ombudsman for Children, Emily Logan, has said more time is needed to debate the issues relating to the rights and protection of children before a referendum can proceed. Ms Logan was speaking on the eve of the publication of the proposed referendum on the rights and protection of children by the Minister for Children, Brian Lenihan.

She said many parents she meets are fearful of State intervention, and rushing to change the Constitution is causing anxiety.
