Children should be taken from care of woman facing jail, judge rules

Three children should be taken from the care of a woman who is facing jail after admitting conspiring to supply around £800,000 worth of amphetamines, a family court judge has ruled.

Mr Justice Keehan has concluded that all three youngsters – aged 16, 15 and three – should live with other relatives.

Detail of the case has emerged in a ruling by the judge following a private hearing in the Family Division of the High Court in London.

He said the woman was likely to receive a substantial prison sentence.

She had wanted the children to live with her – but had conceded that she could not care for them.

Mr Justice Keehan said no-one involved could be identified.

The judge said the children had different fathers.

He said Northamptonshire County Council had responsibility for the children’s welfare – and said social services staff had asked him to make decisions about the youngsters’ futures.
