Care worker who illegally injected a pensioner is sentenced

A CARE worker who illegally injected an elderly man has been sentenced. Julie Ann Taylor, who is already serving a prison sentence for stealing from another victim, lied about her qualifications before giving the injection.

Taylor, aged 43, was working for Home Care Support and employed by Bury Council social services when she committed the offence between June 7, 2010, and July, 6, 2010.

She was sentenced to six months in prison at Bolton Crown Court on February 18 for stealing from another vulnerable patient.

District Judge Paul Richardson gave her a 28 day custodial sentence, to run concurrently, at Bury Magistrates Court today.

Taylor of Wood Street, Middleton, pleaded guilty to both offences.
