Third of Glasgow will be hit by benefits shake-up

Changes to benefit payments to be introduced next month will leave a third of Glasgow households worse off, it was claimed today

And, according to a report to go before councillors this week, the 109,000 households will be hardest hit by the benefit changes.

Matt Kerr, the council’s executive member for social care, said: “These punishing cuts will hit our poorest and must vulnerable citizens. Many of these people are desperate, at the end of the line already.
