Care home jobs courtesy of five new residential facilities

Five care homes are planned to be built in the North East in an effort to create new jobs and offer new residences for pensioners in the region. Rosewood Homes, which has just completed a 75-bed luxury care home in Gateshead, has plans to create five more residential homes over the next two years which would create over 400 new jobs.

Set up two years ago, Rosewood Homes, based in North Shields expects 425 jobs to be created and help turnover to increase from £1 million to as much as £11 million by the end of 2012.

Rosewood Homes co-founder Azfal Ahmad was driven to improve the care sector after experiencing sub-par standards through his own family’s care. In collaboration with the Bridging Newcastle and Gateshead regeneration project, Ahmad was able to fulfil his plans to transform local care swiftly.

Ahmad said of his ambitious projects, “I started the new venture because I believed there was something I could do to help provide a better quality of care to the elderly.

Our vision is to transform what the general public’s image of a care home is, creating a micro community where people feel secure, comfortable, relaxed and enjoy a fulfilling life.”

With the country recovering from the recession and the employment market slowly rebuilding itself, Ahmad is keen to provide locals with a chance to work in luxury care homes and offer training opportunities to regional care workers.

He added, “There will be a number of job opportunities created here in the North East once the care homes receive planning permission, with a focus on training up our team to provide the very best standards of care.”
