Buckinghamshire Council unveil transparent social care system

CABINET members of the county council agreed to give people more choice in their social care at their latest meeting.

Over the past nine months the adult social care department have been developing a new model for helping vulnerable people which will give them more understanding of how much money can be used to fund their care.

Commenting on the new system, Mike Colston, cabinet member for adult social care, said: “We are committed to getting this new system right, so that it is transparent and fair for all our vulnerable adults, and for our council tax payers. So it is imperative that we are very mindful of the efficient and effective use of public money so that we do not waste a single pound. We want to make every pound can stretch as far as possible.”
