Social Inclusion Is Key To Improved Results

Head teachers who are socially inclusive and embrace the Every Child Matters agenda will improve results, according to a study. The soon-to-be-published National College of School Leadership study examined six schools based in disadvantaged areas.

Maggie Farrar, operational director at the college, told Children Now: “Workforce modernisation, extended services and Every Child Matters have changed the context in which school leaders work. As our new research shows, the key to successful leadership in this context is open and inclusive leadership.”

Leading Under Pressure: Leading for Social Inclusion will be published in July.
