£8m Of New Services For Under-Fives

A brand new service will be launched in North Devon next month providing facilities for almost 2,000 local children. Three new children’s centres in South Molton, Holsworthy and Braunton will provide a range of health, social care and education facilities under one umbrella.

The centres are the result of an £8 million cash injection from Devon County Council, to provide services to some 22,000 under-fives and their families across Devon.

The South Molton children’s centre will provide services to families in Bishops Nympton, Chittlehampton, North and South Molton, Chulmleigh and Witheridge.

The Holsworthy children’s centre services are intended to reach 540 children in Holsworthy, Broadheath, Coham Bridge, Forest, Tamarside and Waldon.

The Braunton services will be based around the Braunton Learning Community in the Heanton Punchard ward, which includes Chivenor and Wrafton. Services will be rolled out across the rest of Braunton between 2008/10 and are likely to be delivered from a variety of venues.
