Skills For Care Announce Annual Conference

Skills for Care’s national annual conference will take place at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham on February 27 – 28 2007. The theme this year is partnerships.

Through a series of keynote addresses, discussion sessions and interactive workshops, the conference will examine how partnerships work in practice, how they allow access to extra resources such as funding and knowledge, and what the outcomes are for people who use services.

CEO of Skills for Care Andrea Rowe said: “Encouraging successful partnerships with other like-minded organisations is paramount to delivering the goals of the White Paper, ‘Our Health, Our Care, Our Say.’ It is only through building effective partnerships, with adequate resources from a range of fund holders and commissioners, that we can deliver a joined up and united workforce delivering the person-centred care people want.”

Skills for Care defines the necessary standards of skills and qualifications to enable social care workers to develop their roles.
