The opportunity has arisen within West Lothian Council, Housing, Customer & Building Services for a dynamic, self-motivated and enthusiastic Void Management Officer to join our team to deliver a high quality service in respect of the void/letting function. This is an excellent opportunity to join our team following recent organisational changes.
This will include :-
Ensuring that the void process is undertaken efficiently through ensuring coordination of the void re-let standard of properties, including mainstream, temporary tenancies and any other properties.
Minimise void re-let timeframes and minimise rental loss. Take action as necessary to ensure that all voids are re-let within agreed timescales.
Co-ordinate accompanied viewings and arranging prospective sign up agreements of new tenants.
Work efficiently and effectively with partners, external suppliers and agencies.
Work in real time, digitally where possible and communicate with colleagues, managers and tenants regarding progress, ensuring that all necessary actions are taken to re-let the void within agreed timescales
Housing SVQ Level 2 or above.
Relevant experience in a housing or technical property inspection environment for 2 years.
A working knowledge of Housing legislation, practice and key issues in Scottish Housing with experience of working in a public sector, or related role, dealing with the public and delivering a customer focused service is essential.
Awareness of the Technical Guidance for Social Landlords regarding Scottish Housing Quality Standards (SHQS)
