We are currently looking for 3 Technical Officer (Tenanted and Void properties) to join our Housing Property Team.
This is a great opportunity to join our Property Team and provide advice across Falkirk Council’s Housing portfolio. This post will a focus on statutory and mandatory compliance within the social housing sector with a specific focus on Tenanted and Void Properties ensuring we maximise rental income and minimise rent loss. A sound knowledge of reactive and planned maintenance in the social housing sector is essential.
The role is to assure that technical standards are maintained for all Core works delivered by our in-house and external contractors.
You will be required to make decisions on all aspects of housing repair and contract related work based on observations made on-site, and from information received. You will provide complex technical advice and support to Housing Coordinators and Housing Officers in meeting their technical responsibilities.
You will carry out comprehensive technical inspections of Council owned properties, quantify repairs, provide accurate measurements, and issue work instructions on a frequent basis. You will also be required to inspect work carried out by contractors and act as necessary to ensure works are completed timeously and to specification.
You will be able to prioritize workloads, work under pressure and work in a team with minimal supervision.
You will be required to be mobile across the council area.
