We are recruiting for a Support Worker within a residential college in Harborne.
Your new company
We are recruiting for a national residential College and registered charity that supports a diverse range of student/client abilities and needs. The College provides education, training, routes to independent living and employment through an innovative, holistic approach to learning and support.
Your new role
You will be supporting 16 – 25-year-olds with Autism, visual impairments, and other disabilities. You will be expected to ensure the well-being of students, and participate in planning effective routines, monitoring health of our students using systems and monitors, administer medication. The successful applicant will work on a fixed working pattern basis through term and have a well-developed awareness of a broad range of disability, and able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
Some shift patterns examples can be found below:
Sun – 1pm – sleep in (12.5 hours)
Mon – 3pm – sleep in (10.5 hours)
Wed – 3pm – 11pm (7.5 hours)
Thurs – 3pm -11pm (7.5 hours)
What you’ll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will have previous experience within the care sector, ideally within residential care and working with young adults with difficulties and complex needs. You must be flexible with working hours and available to work shifts on a rota basis including sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays. You must also have a DBS.
