Glasgow is a thriving and vibrant city and excellent opportunities exist to join us and contribute towards helping all our neighbourhoods flourish. The Glasgow City Health & Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP) is on a journey to radically change the way in which Social Work delivers support and services.
We are looking for qualified Social Workers who are committed to making a real difference to the lives of children, families and young people. We have vacancies in the three localities across the city. Successful applicants will be allocated a post based on the current vacancies across all of our service areas within Glasgow.
In Children’s Services we want to ensure that the city invests in early family support and parenting. We are determined to ensure the whole of the GCHSCP, in tandem with colleagues in Education, are co-ordinated for the maximum benefit of every family. We want to significantly improve the experience of children and young people in our care and utilise all of the strengths within the wider family and wider community. Our determination is to secure better outcomes and positive destinations for all. As a Partnership, we want to shift the balance of care and ensure we invest maximum resource and maximum effort in helping families to stay together, assist in the delivery of interventions and contribute to complex care management within a multi-disciplinary context. We are seeking individuals who understand and share these visions.
Applicants must possess a Degree / Diploma in Social Work (or Social Work equivalent). Attached to this advert is the Person Specification which details the qualifications, skills, knowledge and competencies that are required for this post. Applicants wishing to work part time hours can apply and if chosen for interview, must advise the Chair of the interview panel.
Current SSSC registration as a Social Worker or registration within 6 months of taking up a position, is essential. Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme is also essential on taking up appointment.
These posts are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
