This post is for a part-time qualified Mental Health Officer in the Emergency Out of Hours Social Work Services which covers Glasgow and the five other Local Authorities within the Greater Glasgow & Clyde Board area.
This is a contractual arrangement with Glasgow being the lead authority.
The post is required to ensure effective and efficient delivery of statutory social work assessment and intervention in emergency situations with referrals coming from police, health, public etc as well as alerts from the six local authorities we serve.
This is a generic service covering all aspects of adult and child care including Adult Support and Protection, Mental Health and Child Protection, therefore although the post is for a qualified mental health officer they will also undertake work across all service user groups. The service runs 365 days per year between the hours of 1600 – 0900 weekdays and weekends, 1400 on a Friday until 0900 on a Monday, as well as all public holidays for the six local authorities, therefore will involve shift work across day, back and night shift cover.
Applicants must possess a Degree / Diploma in Social Work (or Social Work equivalent), and Mental Health Officer Qualification and also be able to demonstrate commitment to Continuous Professional Development.
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment along with SSSC Registration. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.
