Justice Social Worker – Cross roads Team
Grindlay Street Court Social Work Centre
Salary: £37,626 – £44,257
Hours: Various as below:
2 posts – 36 hours per week & 21.5 hours per week
Edinburgh Justice Services are committed to providing high quality services and ensuring a compassionate approach to people who use our services, and to supporting staff wellbeing. An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 Social Workers with a particular interest in Trauma Informed practice, Early Intervention and Groupwork to join the Crossroads service for men. Crossroads delivers a range of Justice interventions such as Diversion from Prosecution, Structured Deferred Sentences and Community Payback Orders. The overall remit of the team is to deliver a service that is responsive to the risks and needs of men affected by complex trauma.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Assessment and report writing
• Supervising and responding to people in the community and in custody
• Contributing to multi agency risk and safety planning and management
• Development and delivery of groupwork programmes such as Survive and Thrive
Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, an understanding of National Outcomes and Standards and public protection, be willing to work in a dynamic environment and to contribute to an inclusive culture that values and respects diversity and lived experience.
Candidates will have a degree in Social Work and be registered, or eligible to register, with the SSSC.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
