SW Locums require an Experienced social worker for a rare opportunity has arisen within Westminster’s ‘Outstanding’ Access Team. The Team is the first point of contact for safeguarding referrals regarding children.
The Access Team provides a quick and effective safeguarding response to referrals of concern for children within Westminster.
Informed by their practice framework, which is systemic social work, the service works to provide a holistic response to children, young people and their families, ensuring we meet the needs of our community and respect family life.
In terms of qualifications, you’ll need a recognised social work qualification and registration with Social Work England We adopt a child focused approach to our work to help us to have a better understanding of a child’s lived experience so we can make sure families get the right level of support.
The Team consider every contact to be a potential for intervention and change.
You will be talking to families and professionals, gathering and analysing information, to ensure children are safeguarded and support offered at the earliest opportunity.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and motivated individual looking to develop skills in risk analysis and help to participate in the on-going development of the service.
You will have regular reflective supervision with your line manager and monthly group supervision with the rest of the team.
You’ll also find this role perfect for developing your ability to risk assess and have a better understanding of thresholds, so children and families receive the right level of support.
