This post is based within the Paisley Integrated Adult Community Mental Health Team. The Team is a Health and SW team based within the Charleston Centre in Paisley.
You will line manage the social work mental health team and be a member of the locality management team.
The main duties of the post will include: providing supervision and workload management to qualified and unqualified staff; participate in the duty rota; chair a range of relevant meetings; ensure a high quality of service delivery; work in partnership with other agencies.
It is essential that you have communication and interpersonal skills, with a positive, friendly, approachable manner and have assessment, writing and presentation skills. You will be flexible in approach, and have a commitment to Social Work values. You should be highly motivated with proven leadership and people management skills and should have relevant experience in an area team setting. You will also occasionally be required to work out with normal office hours.
It is essential that you have a knowledge of Mental Health Legislation, AWI Act and the Adult Protection Act. You will also have an understanding of current policy and operational issues in relation to adult mental health services/community care. Furthermore, it is essential that you have an understanding of Professional Accountability systems.
You must have a relevant Social Work qualification (DipSW, CQSW or equivalent) and be registered with the SSSC. You must hold a driving licence.
Full training and support will be given to ensure that you are able to maintain the department’s commitment to continuous improvement.
Please note that this post is temporary, subject to business needs and funding for 12 Months or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is the earlier.
This position is covered by The Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 (“the PVG Act”) and has been designated as carrying out regulated work with a child or protected adult under the terms of the Act. Consequently individuals who are named on the Disqualified from Working with Children/Adults Lists will commit an offence if they apply for this post and may face prosecution.
