Given the nature of the role, our client requires the successful residential manager to possess:
* Level 3 in Residential Childcare and Level 5 in Leadership and Management (Essential)
* Supervisory experience within an Ofsted-rated Children’s Home (Essential)

Duties and Responsibilities:
* Manage Referrals: Oversee the intake of referrals from various sources and maintain full occupancy.
* Service Development: Create and implement a development plan for high-quality, clinically informed practice.
* Clinical and Medication Practices: Ensure compliance with legislation for clinical and medication processes.
* Health and Safety: Guarantee safe working practices according to Health and Safety regulations.
* Risk and Needs Assessment: Regularly review and update risk and needs assessments for residents.
* Support and Transition Services: Provide top-notch support and transition services aligned with local authority specifications.
* Professional Conduct: Ensure staff always demonstrate professional ethics and behaviour.
* Service Coordination: Act as a focal point for advice, support, and coaching for staff.
* Environment Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe environment and address repair issues promptly.
* Regulatory Liaison: Liaise with regulatory organisations to ensure proper home management.
* Financial and Administrative Compliance: Adhere to financial procedures and budget constraints.
* Safeguarding: Protect children and young people through sound management and collaboration with external agencies.
* Staff Support: Assist in managing, appraising, supervising, and supporting residential staff.
* Recruitment and Training: Involved in staff recruitment, vetting, interviewing, and induction.
* On-Call System: Participate in the on-call system.
* Team Management: Manage Support Workers and Support Assistants.
* Partnerships and Compliance: Develop relationships with partners and commissioners, ensuring contract compliance.
* Inclusion Opportunities: Promote participation of children and young people in home activities and decision-making.
* Legislation Compliance: Ensure the home operates in line with relevant legislation and standards.
Qualifications
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management, Children & Young People’s Services, or equivalent.
* Recent experience relevant to residential care within the last five years.
* Experience supervising managing or mentoring professional staff.
* Sound knowledge and understanding of Children Homes regulation including Quality Standards 2015, The Children’s Homes (Amendment) Regulations 2011, Care Standards Act 2000, Ofsted and related legislation, and policies and procedures.
