Salary: £36,312- £42,717

You will undertake assessment and care management arrangements for clients promoting a multi-disciplinary approach to service user needs. Promote and facilitate good manual handling practice, including risk assessment, updating care plans and identifying training needs. Assess for, prescribe and facilitate provision of equipment in accordance with good practice and Council policies, and review as required. Assess for, plan and facilitate provision of minor and major adaptation work, working with other agencies as required, in accordance with good practice and Council policies. There will also be an element of crisis response taking on a role in a shared duty system.
Candidates must have a Degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy recognised by the Health and Care Professions Council and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
You should be able to work independently and have an excellent understanding of clinical practice and the standards expected by the Royal College of occupational therapy, Lothian Health and the City of Edinburgh Council as this is an integrated team.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
