Renfrewshire Council are looking to appoint a Housing Regeneration Officer to assist with the delivery of our ambitious programme of housing-led regeneration and renewal which will bring forward additional investment of £100m over the next eight to ten years to deliver modern, high quality, energy efficient, affordable Council housing. This programme will not only significantly enhance the Council’s existing housing stock and deliver newbuild housing, but it will also contribute to the wider transformation of Renfrewshire as a place and will be central to economic and social recovery.
We are looking for someone who can develop and implement local area-based regeneration initiatives, working closely with officers across the range of Council services as well as with external partners. You will promote active tenant and resident involvement in the regeneration programme, taking a lead role at a local level to ensure excellent standards of communication and engagement with local communities throughout all stages of regeneration activity. You will work closely with other Council services, external partners and the Council’s consultants and contractors, ensuring that appropriate information and support is available for tenants and residents whose homes are affected by regeneration plans.
You will be articulate, enthusiastic, and highly motivated to work with tenants, partners and other stakeholders to improve local housing circumstances and neighbourhoods through the development and implementation of housing regeneration programmes and management initiatives. You must have relevant experience including housing management / development experience; working to develop / implement new initiatives and the ability to prioritise a demanding workload and meet deadlines. You must have effective communication, analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills, knowledge of local and national policy and experience of working with tenants, local communities, and partners.
A relevant degree or professional qualification, experience of working with partners; working with tenants and local communities; working with other housing providers; and supervisory experience is desirable.
