The ARCH Home Care Responder’s provide an on-call service (including out of hours) to residents in Aberdeenshire. The main priorities of the ARCH team are to provide a Home Care service in response to unplanned or urgent care needs. The Home Care Responders can provide a planned short-term intervention service to avoid Hospital admission and step in to provide support and assistance avoiding Delayed Discharge for those returning home from Hospital. Rota cover may also be required to support main stream Home Care where there is no other available alternative.
ARCH Responders have flexible work bases within Hospitals, Care Homes and Very Sheltered Housing Complexes in their local area. These bases are not fixed and Home Care Responders will be expected to work flexibly between these bases, depending on where the need is.

As an employer, Aberdeenshire Council will provide and fund all required training including facilitation and attainment of an SVQ2 qualification. You will also be provided with your work uniform and all personal protective equipment required to undertake the role safely and effectively.

This role will involve shift working on a rota basis (day shifts / evening shifts and night shifts available)
A driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role and you will be expected to drive a manual Aberdeenshire Council fleet vehicle.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
This post will require you to have obtained SSSC Registration within 6 months of employment.
You must hold a current valid driving licence and access to a car
This post has a minimum requirement of two references, one of these must be your current or most recent employer.
