We are looking for an experienced Clinical Deputy Manager to join our team in Ledbury. You will play a key part in the clinical coordination of the service; assisting in leading and supervising a large team to ensure the highest standards of care are delivered. As a key leader in our home, you will work closely with the local community, GPs, and professionals to create a care environment that empowers residents to lead fulfilling lives. Our commitment to high-quality nursing and care is grounded in our core values: Wellness, Happiness, and Kindness.
Our client is one of the UK’s leading providers of health and social care, delivering services across a range of specialist settings, including elderly care homes, dementia units, mental health facilities, and low secure psychiatric hospitals. As the largest employee-owned company in the healthcare sector, 76% of the company is owned by its staff, empowering employees to contribute to key decisions and helping foster a supportive, people-centred culture.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the Registered Manager in leading staff to deliver high-quality care in a safe, supportive environment.
* Coordinate and lead the nursing team to provide person-centred care, promoting dignity, privacy, independence, and equality.
* Ensure the effective operation of the nursing units and maintain communication with external health professionals.
* Oversee infection control measures and conduct audits across the service.
* Act as a role model and provide leadership by being approachable and visible to all employees.
* Manage the nursing unit, ensuring smooth admissions and discharges, and support recruitment and onboarding of new staff.
* Conduct performance reviews, appraisals, and mentorship for employees.
* Address complaints and suggestions promptly, ensuring actions are taken within set timeframes.
* Support the Registered Manager in building a positive workplace culture and maintaining high levels of employee engagement.
* Provide leadership in the absence of the Registered Manager, escalating concerns when necessary.
The Ideal Candidate:
* A qualified nurse with a valid NMC Pin.
* Experience in a similar role, such as Deputy Manager, Clinical Lead, or Senior Nurse.
* Expertise in elderly care and person-centred approaches.
* Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and develop staff effectively.
* Commitment to providing high-quality care and improving the wellbeing of residents.
