The home is based in Middlesbrough a vibrant industrial town in North East England, known for its rich history, cultural scene, and strong transport links. Middlesbrough has excellent transport links, with a well-connected railway station, major road networks (A19 & A66).
About the Role:
This Provider is looking for a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in leading our children's home. You will help ensure that the home provides high-quality care in line with Ofsted regulations and supports the emotional, social, and developmental needs of our young people.
Key Responsibilities:
•Assist in managing the daily operations of the home, ensuring compliance with safeguarding and care standards
•Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of residential care workers
•Develop and implement care plans tailored to the individual needs of each child
•Support young people with their emotional well-being, promoting positive outcomes
•Handle safeguarding concerns and incidents effectively
•Ensure the home meets Ofsted standards, striving for Good or Outstanding ratings
•Assist in recruitment, staff training, and performance management
What We're Looking For:
•Experience working in a residential children's home in a senior or leadership role
•Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (Level 5 preferred or willingness to work towards it)
•Strong leadership and people management skills
•Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation
•A caring, resilient, and child-centred approach
•Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties
